BLPA-In Cheerleading, we have had practice every day since the second day of school. We have cheered at four football games. I talked to two of the cheerleaders, one from Cheer Stars and one from Cheer Elite. I asked when practice was and what they do at practice. The Cheer Stars and Cheer Elite cheerleaders both said that first, they warm up by doing stretches, then move onto practice the cheers, and then they tumble.
I, then, asked both groups of cheerleaders whether they think cheer is a sport or an activity. Both of the cheerleaders said that it was a sport and not an activity at all. They think that it is a sport because they have to work really hard, and just because they're girls doesn't mean that it isn't a sport.
My third question was just for the Stars cheerleader and I asked what a Cheer Star was, and if they interact with Cheer Elite at all. She said how they are J.V. cheerleaders, but they are not the worst, nor are they the best. She also talked about how Cheer Stars and Cheer Elite are one team and how they all cheer together at games, but Cheer Stars take the lead at middle school football games.
My next question was just for the Elite cheerleader, and I asked what a Cheer Elite cheerleader does and how do they interact with Cheer Stars. She started talking about how Cheer Elite is just a varsity cheerleading team for the school and Cheer Elite and Cheer Stars are all on the same team: they practice together, they tumble together, they do it all together. The only thing that is different between the two is that Cheer Elite cheers are in the front at football games.
