Cress, the third book in the Lunar Chronicles, highlights a sixteen-year-old Lunar shell. Marissa Meyers named this young hacking-prodigy Cress. Published on February 14, 2014, Meyers starts this book as a NaNoWriMo(National November Writing Month) novel. It’s filled with action, adventure, and a touch of romance.

Lunar shells were considered dangerous by Queen Levana because they were born without the Lunar gift. Cress is a shell that is recognized by Thaumaturge Sybil Myra as a useful tool for gifted Lunars. Cress was sent to her satellite prison, so that she could hack and hide Earthen and Lunar information.

When she was contacted by Cinder, she realized that she could escape with charming Captain Thorne. Her mistress, Sybil Myra, found out that Cress is protecting Queen Levana’s enemy flying ships. Cress is punished for not hacking Earth’s database and later rescued.

Marissa Meyers pulls the stunt of writing another formidable book and continues her love for fairy tales. Her favorite book is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. Feiwel and Friends kindly helps publish Marissa Meyers’ thrilling books and continues her legacy as a seasoned writer.
