Snow White’s Story on the Moon

Winter is the fourth addition to The Lunar Chronicles written by the well known author, Marissa Meyer. With eight hundred and twenty-seven pages, Meyer turns the old fairytale of Snow White into a sci-fi fantasy novel. This book was published on November 10th of 2015.

Princess Winter is seventeen-years-old and has defied the Lunar ways, vowing to never use her lunar gift. Winter became insane from holding back her gift and suffered from hallucinations. She’s kind towards animals and people, largely contrasting Queen Levana. Winter becomes part of Cinder’s crew because of her hate for Levana and wishes for a brighter future on Luna.

Queen Levana is Winter’s step-mother and envies Winter’s perfectly flawed beauty and wishes to be the ruler of both Luna and Earth. After her veil of beauty is revealed through cameras, Levana hatefully tells Cinder how Queen Charany, Cinder’s mother, and Levana gave her a new revolting look at age six.

Meyer ties the fairy tales together with a sudden and fantastic ending in Winter.
