Backstory, Backstory, and Future

Marissa Meyer published Stars Above, another book of the Lunar Chronicles, on February 2nd, 2016. This book starts with the main characters’ backstories, then goes on to continue the series. It tells readers how the beloved characters in the Lunar Chronicles turned out after the series ended.

Stars Above holds many stories:

• “The Keeper” starts with Scarlet’s grandmother, Michelle Benoit, being a pilot for an Earthen ship.

• “Glitches” is the prequel to Cinder.

• “The Queen’s Army” holds the story of Wolf when he became a special operative for Luna.

• “Carswell’s Guide to Being Lucky” is about Carswell’s life when he was young.

• “After Sunshine Passes By” is the tale of how Cress got locked in the satellite.

• “The Princess and the Guard” is the prequel to Winter and is about Winter’s life, and her swearing to never use her Lunar gift.

• “The Little Android” is the retelling of The Little Mermaid in the Lunar Chronicles.

• “The Mechanic” is Prince Kai’s view on things when he asks Cinder to fix his tutor android.

• “Something Old, Something New” is the epilogue of The Lunar Chronicles. It tells the final tale of Cinder and her friends’ ‘happily ever after’.
