BLPA and BLRA- Since school started, kids have had testophobia, which is the fear of taking a test. Twenty-five to forty percent of students experience test anxiety. Also, higher test-anxious students score approximately 12 percent lower than their low-anxiety peers.
There are many possible reasons people have testophobia. The person might have failed a test in the past and was punished for it. Another reason people have testophobia is that they might have been told they had to repeat a year of school because they failed, or the person might be afraid that if they fail a test it could hurt their future.
Responses to testophobia can vary. Some cannot overcome their anxiety when they start a test. Others have a hard time breathing and might vomit or even faint. In almost every case, the person cannot finish the test.
There is good news for people who suffer from testophobia; they can get help. One of the treatment ideas could be behavioral modification. Another treatment that has helped with testophobia is cognitive therapy. However, medication is not usually recommended. In conclusion, testophobia is very common among students, but it is good to know that there is help. I personally will be trying some of these new things to help me test better. Everyone can and will beat testophobia if they try!
