Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is a movie you just have to see. Don’t believe me? To begin with, this movie was a major improvement to the original which was a giant failure, especially since it came out soon after Jurassic Park. The graphics were terrible, and the movie itself was boring and long.
This new one is much shorter, the graphics have improved a great deal, and the comedy is on point. The cast was a selection of awesome actors ranging from Dwayne Johnson playing Spencer, a nerdy teen terrified of everything, to Kevin Hart playing the giant football player “Fridge”. I don’t think anyone would miss a chance to point out Jack Black and his hilarious performance as a female trapped in a male’s body, Bethany. Lastly, I need to point out Karen Gillan as Martha. She had a brilliant performance as a nerdy girl who had to learn bravery through the course of the movie. They all were the greatest actors for this movie, and they made it a whole lot better.
The story, this time, makes more sense than the original. It’s also more captivating than the original, instilling humor were the original lacked it. It’s in an entirely different place as well. Instead of a normal city, they are inside the game - a whole jungle world filled with only the most dangerous of creatures.
My overall opinion on this movie is a 9.9/10. It’s brilliant, funny, a major improvement upon the first one, and a generally good movie. If you haven’t seen this movie, you need to see it.
