Minneapolis- On February 4, 2018, the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots faced off in a battle for the NFL Super Bowl LXII title. Both teams were the number one team in their conferences.

The New England Patriots were attempting to become the eighth team to win back-to-back Super Bowls, but thanks to an untimely fumble by the Patriots quarterback, and tricky plays by the Eagles backup quarterback, they were unable to defend their 2017 championship.

The New England Patriots were led by five-time Champion quarterback, Tom Brady, while the Philadelphia Eagles were led by back-up quarterback, Nick Foles. The Eagles’ starting quarterback, Carson Wentz, went out with a leg injury in week 13. Foles stepped in and carried the Eagles to only their third Super Bowl appearance. While Brady led a tough fought effort, passing for over 500 yards, it was Foles and the Philadelphia Eagles that came away with the Lombardi Trophy.

The game was a back and forth nail biter with both teams scoring at will. It seemed as if the team having the last possession would win. This almost happened with a last second pass from Tom Brady. Despite the effort by the Patriots, time ran out on them and they were unable to repeat as NFL Champions.
