Coming Together as a Team

BLPA- As the basketball season draws to a close, the high school girls’ basketball team looks back on the season. Through the hardships of maintaining teamwork and being supportive, the team has come to know each other much better than they had before the season started. The players are Emily, Jada, Bella, Aliyah, Hannah, Kadyn, Kylie, Claudia, Miki, Keely, Rylee, and Kyra; the coaches are Coach Miller and Coach Gordon.

When asked, the girls responded that their best aspects as a team were defense and supporting each other as a team. However, the girls would like to improve their teamwork and working together. The hardest part of the season was that they were all new to the game, and that sometimes the girls had a difficult time getting motivated.

What was enjoyable about the season was that the girls got to know each other and learn the game. “I think the season was fun altogether. We definitely improved on our skills, and we had two great coaches to teach us,” Hannah G. said with a grin. Many of the girls are looking forward to next basketball season.
