Banning Lewis Now Has a Brand New Soccer Team

BLPA-Banning Lewis Prep. will have a new soccer team this March. The tryouts for the middle school will begin March 14th, and the first practice will take place on the 19th of March at the BLPA west field. Depending on the amount of girls that show up, there will be at least one or two teams.

To help the coaches get to know the player’s styles, they held an open gym for boys and girls after school on February 23rd. Although there is only a girls team, the coaches want more boys to show up to the open gym to give the girls competition.

Emma M. says, “It’s nice that we have a soccer team, so I can play more soccer. The uniforms are pretty cool, and it is nice that we get new ones. If we play as a team, we will do better than what others may think.” Kennedy T. believes if the players prepare “very carefully” then the season will be successful.

The coaches want the players to attend as many information meetings as they can. We hope that more girls decide to come out for the team this season.
