Do You Spend too Much Time on Your Phone?

My parents always tell me that I spend too much time on my phone, but do I really? According to the article, “You Probably Use Your Smartphone Way More Than You Think” on Huffington Post by Carolyn Gregoire, “new research conducted by British psychologists shows that young adults use their smartphones roughly twice as much as they estimate that they do.” The reason for this could be that people only count the times that when they are on their phone for long periods of time and they count the times when they check a text or reply to a text, or even when they check the time.
The article says, “In fact, the small preliminary study found that these young adults used their phones an average of five hours a day — that’s roughly one-third of their total waking hours.” I spend about the average amount of time on my phone; I’d say I use my phone about 6-7 hours a day and, honestly, I think that’s better then most of my friends.
