Adventure in Colorado

COLORADO- Colorado is where the Rocky Mountains are, and along with these mountains come many activities and things to do.

If you’re looking for an adventure try driving up Pikes Peak. When driving up the mountain you can look out and see all of Colorado Springs. “Along the way you there was a lot of greenery,” says Giada C. who has traveled up the mountain. At the top of the mountain there is a doughnut shop where people can stop by and eat or just take a break.

If you are looking for some physical activity then try climbing up the Manitou Incline. The Incline is a long staircase up to the top of a mountain. Once you get to the top of the mountain you can look out over the horizon and enjoy the view, or you can climb right back down using Barr Trail. Barr Trail is a trail back down the mountain which is really fun to climb down. On the trail you can find many interesting plants and wildlife.

Another thing to do in Colorado that is not in the mountains is visiting the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve. The Sand Dunes are large piles of sand that people like to climb up and then “sand sled” down. Riley G. says, “It’s like a beach without the water.” Other than the climbing the dunes you can also camp and hike at the national park.
