COLORADO SPRINGS-In the recent snow storm over Colorado Springs, a couple of inches of snowfall has left behind snow and ice. Many car wrecks are devastating for the driver. “Depends on the lack of experience of the driver, and how much of the car is messed up after the accident,” said John C., former mechanic at Al Serra Chevrolet.
In the course of a year over $2.5 million in damages is piled up for repairs and scraping. These cars are usually in the low price range and aren't worth too much to repair. A few are high-end cars that are worth millions to repair, some of these wrecks can raise the estimated annual cost even higher for insurance claims.
In a year, most states are in snow-likely areas at some point during the year. Many U.S. roads get an annual snowfall of 5 inches or more. There are over a hundred thousand related car wrecks a year, 1,750 of which due to snow. Car wrecks by snow are a common problem in the U.S., and we need to take action against the icy problems.
