BBC Sherlock was created in 2010 and stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman. It’s the first modernized version made thus far, and it is fantastic. The modernized version is wonderfully realistic while still being thrilling.
In BBC Sherlock, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s original series is used as inspiration for the episodes, but they all have their own little twists. This draws people, young and old, to the show because it appeals to all ages.
Benedict Cumberbatch is by far the best person they could have cast for the role of Sherlock Holmes. His incredible sense of humor and wit is always hilarious and unexpected. He is able to play the part of a sociopath while still somehow portraying some weakness and a little subtle emotion.
Overall, BBC Sherlock is the best adaptation of Sherlock so far, and that’s saying something.
