Alyssa Gardener is the 3rd descendant of the Liddell family where she has been passed the same curse that’s affected all women in her family; she can talk to bugs and plants. Alyssa knows this curse has been passed down to her from her infamous great-great-great grandmother, Alice Liddell, who got it diving down the rabbit hole. But now as she steps into adulthood, weird memories start coming back, and the haunting horrors of Wonderland may ruin her life once for all. What can she do to fix her and her family’s life, before it’s too late?
A.G. Howard’s, Splintered, is magnificently written. You can tell throughout the book that much thought and effort was put into the story. The twisted version of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland is quite an experience to read itself. The characters are perfectly described, both through word and action. Fans of Cinder and the Lunar Chronicles series will love the story, along with any fantasy/horror lovers.
