What is Zuckerberg doing with Facebook Dating?

May 1st, 2018 is when Mark Zuckerberg announced that he will be launching a Facebook dating app. According to Zuckerberg, the app will be used “not for hookups” and will match you up with people that are not already friends or mutual friends. Zuckerberg wants his relationships to be “meaningful relationships” and not just for a one time date and move on kind of deal. The Facebook app will take profiles that are related and pair them up according to their likes and dislikes, and the users can accept or decline the request. The release date has not been announced yet. One student said, “If it's online dating, you shouldn’t do it. You need to meet face to face to have a relationship. Since I don't have social media, I don't have an opinion on Facebook.” The student overall feels that it is not a good idea, and the person should just meet someone in person instead.
